Meet the Staff
The Lasemedica staff are highly experienced and trained in the latest medical technology to promote aesthetic as well as inner health. Board certified, they have more than 10 years’ experience in catheter-based techniques used in a wide area of vascular health, which is the basis for an ever-expanding array of applications, such as treatment for varicose and spider veins, damaged capillaries, sun-damaged skin, body contouring and more.
They are supported by a staff of experienced clinical nurses and trained and certified aestheticians.
They take time to understand your issues and concerns and are considerate of your needs. They are members of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS).
Rex Ghassemi, M.D.
Dr Ghassemi graduated from Robert Wood Johnson School of medicine obtaining a medical doctorate degree in 1988 . He then completed an Internal medicine residency at Medical College of Pennsylvania and a fellowship at Hahnemann University Hospital. Dr Ghassemi has been in practice for 34 years but has dedicated his practice to Aesthetic medicine for the past 15 years. He specializes in advanced vascular procedures, Laser Vein treatment, Phlebology, laser body contouring, skin and facial rejuvenation, utilizing noninvasive and minimally invasive catheter based techniques. Dr. Ghassemi has been a clinical instructor in medicine and teaches residents and medical students in phlebology techniques. He has been featured in social media and on channel 12 news and multiple news publications. Throughout his extensive career, Dr. Ghassemi has been the recipient of Patients’ Choice Award (2012, 2011, 2009, 2008) and Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2012).
Happily married, he is the father of two children.
He is a member of the American College of Phlebology, the National Society of Cosmetic Physicians and the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery.
Dr Ghassemi has multiple offices in New York and North Jersey and now he is bringing his clinical expertise to South Jersey with the opening of his new office in Spring Lake offering the latest technology in the field of Aesthetic medicine.
JOHN T. COZZONE, M.D.
We are proud to announce that Dr. John T. Cozzone, MD, a board-certified plastic surgeon withmore than 35 years of expertise, has joined our staff at Lasemedica Medspa and Vein Center. As Chief of Plastic Surgery at Saint Joseph Wayne Hospital in Wayne N.J., he has performed thousands of body and facial cosmetic procedures including breast augmentation, breast reduction, breast lifting, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck surgery) and liposuction.
In addition to his extensive experience, he offers the latest non-surgical therapies for treating facial wrinkles and folds, including Juvéderm ® , Restylane ® , Radiesse ® , RHA, and Neurotoxin Cosmetic injections, (Botox and Xeomin) for frown lines. He is known for his exceptional, natural-looking results and commitment to personalized care.
Dr.Cozzone completed training in general surgery at Jersey City Medical Center where his expertise and commitment to patient care ultimately earned him the Chief Resident position. In 1985, Dr. Cozzone completed his training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Ohio State University where he served as Clinical Professor of Surgery for two years. Dr. Cozzone is board certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery. He holds licenses in the states of New Jersey New York and Ohio and is a member of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
TIFFANY MATRAGAS, M.H.S., P.A.-C
Tiffany Matragas is a certified Physician Assistant (NCCPA) with extensive experience in multiple specialties, including vascular surgery, thoracic surgery, plastic surgery, and family practice.
Tiffany earned her Master of Physician Assistant Sciences degree from Saint Francis University and her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Duquesne University in her native Pittsburgh. Tiffany takes great pride in helping patients achieve their desired results and feel confident in their own skin.
She’s a master injector with expertise in aesthetic treatments such as Botox, Juvederm, and dermal fillers. Additionally, Tiffany has received advanced training in various cutting-edge cosmetic treatments, including microneedling, non-invasive skin tightening, skin rejuvenation, and laser hair removal. She approaches every treatment with a steady hand and a commitment to enhancing overall patient health and well-being. In her free time, Tiffany loves cheering on the Steelers and spending time at the beach.

Ms. Pedroso has been a Human Resources professional for over 20 years. She has supported both small and large organizations with a staff count of 20-6000. Having worked in all levels of an organization, she has developed an understanding of the challenges of both the employee and management. She has been successful in improving employee morale, significantly improving the on and off-boarding process of staff and has developed and edited employee policy manuals ensuring compliance with local, state and federal guidelines.
Sandra’s background in Human Resources can easily be transferred into the cosmetics industry. Attributes such as sensitivity, confidentiality and tactfulness are key to making our clients comfortable when discussing delicate, personal matters. She has perfected these throughout her career.

Christine is experienced in all areas of aesthetics focusing on overall skin health with concentration in anti-aging concerns for the face & body.
Christine is passionate about her work, is extremely knowledgeable and provides a variety of facial treatments, utilizing top grade medical grade skin care products. We are very excited to have her join our team at Lasemedica medspa and vein center.
